Day 2 Sapporo to Furano

Trains schedule in hokkaido is not as freq as tokyo/osaka.. so you got to do lots of homework on train timing if you want to effectively use your time ~~ 

If you are going during the peak lavenders season in july, please rem to reserve your tix in adv~ 

i didnt manage to book the 1st Lavender Express train at 7.55am on the previous day.. only can make do with the 2nd timing at 9.06am but in time for the 2nd leg of scenic train to Biei ~ 

you can identify the 'car no.' by looking at the tags hanging at the platform~ 

this is car no. 5 - lavender express ~ 

Lavender Express is an express 2hr train from sapporo to furano in 2hrs with minimal stops and windows like the above. 

Finally after 2hrs train ride.... we are here at furano station~ 

deposited our luggages (300yen) at the tourist information.. 

and caught our next train at 11.52pm ~

Furano-Biei Norokko ~ 

as the name suggested... it runs from furano to biei covering the scenic landscapes along the way ~

*this train only runs in summer & only this train stops at farm tomita ~ however impt thing to note is that theres only 3 timing to and fro in a day. So when you are planning for a trip.. pls look at the time for this train and the normal train ~ freq of train in furano is 1hr ~ so plan and time your trip wisely ~

2nd farm we saw is farm tomita ~ the most famous and must go lavenders farm~

and here we are ... at Biei Station ~ 

we booked the JR twinkle bus tour at 500 yen /pax (Hill Course) which brings us to see all the famous trees in Biei~

the whole tour take only an hour and bring us back to Biei Station ~ 

Took the train back and alight at Naka-Furano station for the first lavender farm we saw earlier on~ 

cross this bridge and walk for 20mins ~ 

and there we are at the Choei Lavender Park 北星山

this is a ski slope in winter ~ thats why you see the cable car ~ 

300yen/pax ~ you can get a discount coupon from the furano tourist infomation ~
