Day 1 Singapore >> Tokyo >> Sapporo !!!

Hokkaido has always been on my 'to-go list' due to my love for furano lavenders farm. Chanced upon the scenic view when watching hk drama - 衝上雲宵 & i told myself i must go there someday! 

& here I am... dream fulfilled.

 This itinerary is planned by myself factoring in the consideration that i have together with me, my parents & relatives (age 50+ up to 65).

if you have an international license, you can actually self drive in hokkaido not so much traffic as the big city and it's more time efficient~ 

the airline that we took this time round is ANA... 

you may ask .. why not others? 

1. save my hassle to transfer the luggages around the int'l & domestic airport in Haneda. So what we did was, once we was out from the customs at the international terminal turn right and you see a row of domestics check in counter for checking in your heavy luggages and you can take the shuttle bus to the domestic terminal without any worries. JAL have the same service too but it's cheaper to fly ANA at that point of time when im booking.

2.SQ only have chartered flight direct to hokkaido during year end.

the breakfast... not very fantastic in my opinion... SQ is way better ~ 

I booked my air tickets directly from ANA english website, so the information it displays is limited. 

& guess what I booked a Pokemon flight from tokyo to hokkaidoo! 

althu im not a pokemon fan, im still excited! 

So after my almost 7hrs of flight from sg ~ 

okay nothing much about it actually, you can purchase some flight exclusive toys on board too. 

This Pokemon plane operates during the July summer holidays and there are participating hotels that offered Pokemon themed rooms too ..

& after 1.5hrs in the kawaii cabin... here I am... finally landed in the land of potatoes, corns, crabs, lavenders and much much more... 

Hokkaido!!! 

This is New Chitose Airport

which I think is an attraction itself.. tons of shopping~ 

& tourists stocked up food as if it's free ~ 

Royce Chocolate World is also located here as Royce is from Hokkaido..

Why is it an attraction? 2nd to that answer is 

a mini doraemon theme playground/cafe! 

Playground that is free of charge ~ 

this is actually a doraemon themed trick art museum! 

chargable~ didnt go in as im with the elderly~

the main purpose of wandering around this airport on the first day is because we are waiting for this sushi stall to open at 10.30am. 

it's said to be the cheap and good quality conveyor belt sushi in sapporo. ~

Exchanged our JR Hokkaido Pass and took the train to Sapporo. 

Nice blue sky & cooling weather!

Checked in Hotel Route Inn Ekimae for 1 night as we will be heading off to Furano tmr, so a location near the JR Sapporo station will be more conv. 

stroll along the streets and my parents cant stop commenting how beautiful the flowers are... 

& we walked to the famous landmark Sapporo tower ~ !

This dinner place is also planned in my itinernary, what's hokkaido without seafood esp. crabs ~ 

I dont really eat crab...but i guess i have to try it since im here!

there no min. order but i wan everyone to try the 3 famous crabs in hokkaido, king/snow/hairy crabs~

Oh ya, if you cant commute in Japanese, they have chinese speaking waitress too! 

we ordered 2 x 10,000 yen set & a ala carte medium king crab ~ 

this is the best! 

after we finish the steamboat, porridge was being cooked~ 

Essense of the kani suki-yaki~ 

& the desserts ~ 

very full ~
