Day 5 Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko

Rise & shine! 

was too lazy to update on the arrival of our tokyo hotel.. 

we are staying in west Shinjuku about 15mins walk from JR shinjuku...

our hotel~

Sun Members Tokyo Shinjuku

Twin Room @ 12,600yen/night 

Booked through Japanican.com, at that point of time i cant get cheaper rate as it was the sakura-viewing week. This hotel is not popular with foreigners, only saw locals there... oh ya, and if you lost your way.. just use park hotel(3 very tall buildings) as your landmark..

today we will be heading kawaguchiko aka fuji 5 lakes to see mount fuji~!

need to change train at otsuki station for fujikyu rail~ not included in JR pass cost 1100yen one way

you wont miss this train... as theres lots of mt. fuji cartoon on it !

Kawaguchiko! 

it's way colder than tokyo & kyoto!!!

wanted to buy hot tea from the vending machines... and we saw hot soup instead!

bought the red bean soup and it was really hot & yummy~

hamtaro bus!!

got a shock~ it's 1.9deg only! no wonder we are freezing!

walk around 15mins and reached our destination...

but we are so sad.. we only see clouds.. no fuji san =(

went to the nearby family mart to buy hot tea again... and tht it will be interesting to take the above shot as SG only sell the regular size~

we just continue our journey hoping that the wind will blow away the clouds~

went to take the kachi-kachi ropeway to have a bird-eye view of the mountain & lake~

700yen round trip

while waiting for the cable car... we notice that we cant see anything ahead! 

hmm... it should be even colder ba ....

yeap... its still raining... and things outside is still misty~

when we finally alighted, we were amazed by the scene~!

FROZEN branches & leaves... 

seriously we dont expect anything like this as we tht its almost april... the temperature will only be min. around 5-7deg~ but this is like 0deg~!!! where everything freeze!

dad cant bear with the freezing weather and went into the shelter and buy fries from the vending machine

the full mt fuji should be seen here... but too bad ..we dont have the luck.. however i think the frozen scene up here is very very nice too!

ate hoto noodles (yamanashi's specialty) for lunch

lots of fuji cute things around the nearby shops

yamanashi is also japan fruit kingdom... so you can also buy yamanashi exclusive pocky & kitkat~

like grape, blueberries flavours

other mount fuji stuff~

took the train back and shop around tokyo hands at shinjuku station

probably you will only find the above in japan, its a little device which play 'flushing' sound

so people cant hear your pooping sound ... LOL

they also have tons of kitchen stuff ....
