Day 3 - Nishiki Market, Kiyomizu Temple, Gion

i tht we need to reach early since we are visiting a market... so we reach there early in the morning... 
but not all stores are open yet
so we went First Kitchen for brunch


and went back to Nishiki Market 錦市場 around 9am +
many food and kitchen-related stuff
chopsticks and chopsticks stand


This is one of the must-try in Nishiki market as recommend in many blogs.

Yum yum! and it taste just like pure tofu!

very ex strawberries, see the price? 12,000 yen around 180SGD! should be very very high grade!!

Took a bus to Kiyomizu, this is the 2nd time im visiting and is one of my favourite place in kyoto.

Jishu Shrine
dedicated for love

japanese girls love wearing yukata to shrine.. even on rainy days!

you can also draw your love fortune at 200yen each~
the very famous sight of kiyomizu which is also printed on many many travel brochures
the sakura had not bloom yet, or else it will be like the scene on the admission tix

but no worries, there are still other flowers~

it had been drizzling all this while... =( 





low temperature + rain = extreme cold!
so we decide to have our lunch at the little stall just before we exit the temple.

love the traditional sitting... but we have to remove your shoes if you are sitting inside

we ordered a hot tofu soup~ felt so comfortable to have a hot dish on a cold cold day~

and definitely i must ordered MATCHA!!! my fave~! 
as mentioned in my previous trip.. i fell in love with matcha and it is also a Kyoto specialty~

Otowa Waterfall
Located at the base of Kiyomizudera's main hall. Its waters are divided into three separate streams, and visitors use cups attached to long poles to drink from them. Each stream's water is said to have a different benefit, namely to cause longevity, success at school and a fortunate love life


after we left the temple, we shopped around the street down before going to the bus stop... 

there are also unique shop open by locals... 
one of the shops which i want to recommend is this 
JI ZU DOU
this shop is all about cute little monks that the scrupltor makes... 
you wont miss this shop as it is located at the street leading to kiyomizu

Next up: Gion
The place where you can catch a glimpse of the real geisha. I arrived too late during my previous trip, it was all dark~ this time... i guess im too early ~

Hanami-koji 
a street which housed many ochaya, which hired geisha to entertain....costing up to few hundreds SGD per meal~

other than hanami-koji, theres traditional craft and food shopping around Gion

almost wanted to buy this... its so cute... around 3000 yen.. 
after much consideration decide to give it a miss~

had our dinner at around 8pm..
went back to the same old restaurant as my previous trip as it is located just next to the bus stop.. super easily to rem!

Oishi~!

It's our last night here and we plan to visit the kyoto tower as we had complimentry tix given by the hotel.

due to the rain... the paper bag are wrapped up nicely using another transparent plastic bag~ as not to damage the original bag... super sweet of them!
