Day 8 : Melbourne Wildlife & Philips Island

if you are reading from all my previous post, i had signed up with wildlife tours in melbourne for day trips.. its one of the cheapest one day tour around with tea & meal provided.
usual price A$106, 3 or more pax is cheaper...

left around 10am ... first stop which is very near melbourne city..
Yarra Bend Park
wasnt thinking much about this place where the guide told us we will be seeing flying fox...

till we saw this....
all the black thingy hanging there is fruit bats!

!!!!!!!!
easily hundreds of them! OMG~!

you can walk further in ....
for some close shots of the bats...

had our morning tea and biscuits at the shelter ...
the guide this time is also very friendly, he even bought a tube of vegmite for us to try.... it's made of malt in paste form.... and taste like beer~
totally not our kind of food .... =X

wild bird~ with the armani hairstyle ... lol

for ard a hr or two... we reach maru animal park
where you can go in and have a close encounter with the animals....

wallabies

koalas

chicken

birds

doney

alpacas

sheep

bingo

emu

and lots of peacocks!
and very rare photo opportunity ~!

kangeroo
tasmanian devils

baby wallaby
the cute and shy wombat... which hid inside the log after this photo is taken...

a distance away was Panny's Amazing world of chocolate ....
need $$ if you wanna visit the choc factory inside ... else you can jus shop around the store...

phiips island is famous for its little penguins... so here it is ... made of chocolates

woolamai ~

seagulls all waiting for the gers to throw them food!

pizza dinner~! and it was huge!

nobbies centre.... it was close so we couldnt see the seal rock through the observatory..
but the view outside is really worth it !

the guide also told us that we might see little penguins... and its a good chance to to photo....as the penguin parade later on strictly prohibit photography ...
there!

baby penguin spotted!

pretty view!

see the white little spot ? those are all the sea gulls!

there's baby sea gull too..... so cute!

head off to the penguin parade ...

on the way we saw ....
all hopping around in the wild~
this is a huge one~

as no photography is allowed at penguin parade...
there a glimpse of how it look like..
we gt to sit at the side and wait for the little penguins to walk up.... all the way from shore to the grass burrows at the land (before you reach your seat)
anyway it was 14 deg that day .... super freezing cold with the winds ... in early summer ... so rem to brg warm clothes

manage to sneak snatch 1 or 2 pic from my hp... as there are rangers patrolling around .. very very good experience.. will urge everyone to go... but i think its not necessary to get the penguin plus since the penguins will be walking up ..
